Emira D'Spain, a cast member of Next Gen NYC, has made waves as a successful content creator and beauty editor. With a degree from NYU, she quickly rose from an internship at Paper Magazine to become its beauty director by age 24. Her groundbreaking achievement as the first Black trans model for Victoria's Secret in 2021 further propelled her career, opening the door to numerous opportunities. Recently, she celebrated her accomplishments by gracing the cover of Paper's 40th anniversary edition, reflecting on her journey from intern to cover star in an inspiring tribute.
"In 2021, I was the first Black trans Victoria's Secret model. Which is, like, so major. But then, ever since then, I feel like that kind of spiral took off my career from there, and it just [led] to more and more opportunities."
"I graduated from NYU and then I was an editor at Paper Magazine and then beauty editor, and I was 24 when I became beauty director, which was crazy."
"From intern to cover star. If you would have told me in 2017 when I was an intern at Paper that I would be here now, I would have never believed you."
