Joby Aviation has announced significant advancements in its electric air taxi program, including simultaneous flights of two aircraft and successful transitions from vertical to cruise flight. These milestones, achieved within a fortnight, are critical on its path towards FAA certification. Joby has developed an all-electric, vertical take-off and landing air taxi capable of carrying a pilot and four passengers. This commitment to innovation showcases Joby's leadership within the aerospace sector and highlights the importance of robust testing in advancing the certification process.
This achievement not only demonstrates Joby's leadership in the sector, it's another indication of the power of American innovation, said Joby Aviation Founder and CEO JoeBen Bevirt in a press release.
Moving to routinely-inhabited transition flight is a key step on the path toward FAA flight testing and was supported by thousands of hours of testing in the Company's Integrated Test Lab.
