Jason Kidd was fined $35,000 by the NBA for publicly criticizing officials and using profane language during a postgame media interview. The fine followed the Mavericks' 111-107 loss at the Houston Rockets. Kidd said the referees “did not do their job tonight” and called them “terrible.” He expressed frustration that rookie Cooper Flagg, who scored 34 points, did not draw a foul on a potential game-tying layup. Kidd named officials Sean Wright, Simone Jelks and Jason Goldenberg, calling their performance “awful” and “unacceptable” and arguing Flagg should have been at the free-throw line.
