'The guys were asleep' - Primoz Roglic among GC losers in crosswinds on Tour de France stage 1
Briefly

Primož Roglič lost 39 seconds on stage one of the Tour de France, missing a key split alongside Remco Evenepoel. This set back his chances for the General Classification. Roglič's team, Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe, failed to ensure proper positioning, leading to the loss. Despite this, the team acknowledges the mistake and the importance of learning from the situation. Other riders like Simon Yates also faced challenges, including mechanical issues that hampered performance. Overall, various top riders encountered significant hurdles early in the competition.
"The guys were asleep. We talked about that stretch, the wind and the related dangers, but they were surprised," DS Enrico Gasparotto told TuttoBici.
"Tonight there will be nothing to say, I think we are all aware of the opportunity we wasted: Roglič and Lipowitz lost the chance to gain time on Remco. Of course, we learned an important lesson."
