Connor Zilisch broke his collarbone when he fell from his No. 88 Chevrolet after winning the Xfinity race at Watkins Glen. He expressed gratitude for being able to walk away from the incident. Zilisch acknowledged his fall happened when he was celebrating with winning team members. As a result of the injury, Trackhouse Racing withdrew him from the Cup race. There is uncertainty about his readiness for the next Xfinity race on August 22 at Daytona, as he is consulting with doctors for next steps.
I'm doing OK. Very grateful to be able to walk away from that. I'm glad it wasn't any worse, and the collarbone is the extent of the injuries.
I was climbing out of the car and … as soon as they started spraying water, my foot slipped. The last thing I remember was being halfway down and falling.
