An unofficial Week 1 depth chart lists Ji'Ayir Brown and Jason Pinnock as starting safeties, with Marques Sigle challenging Brown after an impressive preseason. Defensive coordinator Robert Saleh maintains the safety competition is open. Jauan Jennings returned from a five-week absence and is expected to play, possibly with a limited snap count or a role focused on blocking and physical play.
