49ers report card: Trouble not limited to offense in sobering loss to Seahawks
"PASS OFFENSE: D- Brock Purdy got battered, to the tune of a season-high three sacks and eight hits, the final of which resulted in a left-shoulder stinger and surely more pain to his back. He passed for a season-low 127 yards against a defense that allowed only one pass of 20 yards, to George Kittle, who had just 9 yards on four earlier catches combined."
"RUN OFFENSE: F McCaffrey ran for a season-low 23 yards on eight carries, leaving him with 1,202 yards that rank sixth in the NFL and a 3.9 yards-per-carry average that was his lowest since his 2017 rookie year (3.7 yards per carry). He came within 76 receiving yards of 1,000, adding 34 Saturday on a team-high six catches. Purdy had their longest runs, on 10- and 11-yard scrambles."
"PASS DEFENSE: D Sam Darnold got sacked twice and fumbled once but still committed no turnovers and didn't ruin Seattle's chances. He completed 20-of-26 passes for 198 yards. Deommodore Lenoir committed pass interference in the end zone on Jaxon Smith-Njigba on the opening drive, and although it didn't cost the 49ers any points, the 49ers did let him rack up 84 yards to raise his NFL-leading total to 1,793 yards."
Seahawks beat the 49ers 13-3 at Levi's Stadium. Brock Purdy absorbed a season-high three sacks and eight hits, finished with 127 passing yards, and suffered a left-shoulder stinger; a tipped fourth-quarter pass off Christian McCaffrey resulted in an interception at the 3-yard line. Christian McCaffrey rushed 23 yards on eight carries and had six catches for 34 yards, finishing with 1,202 rushing yards and a 3.9 yards-per-carry average. Sam Darnold completed 20-of-26 passes for 198 yards while Jaxon Smith-Njigba gained 84 yards after a Deommodore Lenoir pass-interference call. The 49ers totaled an NFL-worst 20 sacks allowed on the season and showed repeated missed tackles, including a key 19-yard third-and-17 run by Kenneth Walker.
