"It is frustrating because you know you're better than that as a person and individual,"
"And you don't like the things that it shows. Sometimes it might show that you don't care and that's not the case. You want to eliminate those things."
"It wasn't really no reaction. It was expected,"
"Just being what I'm supposed to be, doing what I'm supposed to do and showing that level of maturity."
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman was benched for the first series of Week 5 against the New England Patriots for disciplinary reasons. Coleman said he must be more accountable and described the benching as expected and handled internally, calling it a growing pain. He expressed frustration that the incident can misrepresent his commitment and vowed to eliminate impressions that he does not care. Coleman returned to play 42 snaps (62%), recording a receiving touchdown and a fumble. He was a 2024 second-round pick and was previously benched early in a 2024 game for a timing issue. Coleman said he will respond by showing maturity and doing what is expected, and he and coach Sean McDermott are on the same page.
