"The Frisco Police Department said it was called at approximately 10:39 p.m. Wednesday to help the Texas Department of Public Safety to find a vehicle that had entered the city during a pursuit. The state-level law-enforcement agency said in a statement Thursday that it had attempted to stop the vehicle for a traffic violation, but the driver had refused to stop. The vehicle was soon found unoccupied, crashed on southbound Dallas Parkway near Warren Parkway."
Police were called at approximately 10:39 p.m. to assist the Texas Department of Public Safety in locating a vehicle that had entered Frisco during a pursuit. The Department of Public Safety had attempted to stop the vehicle for a traffic violation and the driver refused to stop. The vehicle was later found unoccupied after crashing on southbound Dallas Parkway near Warren Parkway. Marshawn Kneeland, 24, fled the crash scene on foot. Frisco police were told that Kneeland had expressed suicidal ideations. Kneeland was located at 1:31 a.m., deceased from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Collin County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the official cause and manner of death. Kneeland was a 2024 second-round NFL draft pick who scored his first NFL touchdown the previous Monday. Family, teammates and girlfriend Catalina remembered him as devoted and humble.
