"We are devastated by this tremendous loss and are still processing the depth of our grief. As Marshawn was making his mark on the football field with the Dallas Cowboys, he held an even more special place off the field-as a devoted son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, grandson, and friend. He was kind, determined, humble, and full of love. His light shone brightly in every life he touched, and his spirit will continue to live on through the countless hearts he inspired."
State troopers pursued a vehicle into Frisco and located a crashed car on southbound Dallas Parkway near Warren Parkway while the driver was not inside. Frisco Police received a late Wednesday night call from the Texas Department of Public Safety requesting assistance locating the vehicle. Officers learned that the driver, Marshawn Kneeland, had expressed suicidal ideations. Law enforcement found Kneeland a little after 1:30 a.m. and believe he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Kneeland's agent confirmed the death. Family described him as devoted and kind, asked for privacy, and the Cowboys and NFL offered condolences.
