"Props to our defense, they played great,"
"It was tough. Battle of the elements. We knew they were going to be a good defense. Our defense helped us all night."
New England's defense dominated the divisional-round playoff win over top-ranked Houston, forcing five turnovers and tying the franchise postseason record with four interceptions. The Patriots won 28-16 at snowy Gillette Stadium, advancing to the AFC Championship Game next Sunday in Denver. The turnaround from consecutive four-win seasons has been led by coach Mike Vrabel and quarterback Drake Maye. Maye completed 16 of 27 passes for 179 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, and was sacked five times while losing two fumbles. The defense carried the team, earning praise for its swarming performance and top-five level play.
