Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders to miss time with hip injury
"I think he's going to have a little bit longer,"
"I don't anticipate him being available at the beginning of the season, but I don't see a season-ender."
"I haven't been around him through injury, and I think his initial forecast - he's not the greatest doctor,"
Jason Sanders will miss the start of the Dolphins' regular season due to an undisclosed injury, reported by ESPN as a hip ailment expected to sideline him four to five weeks. Coach Mike McDaniel said Sanders likely will not be available for Week 1 against the Colts but that the injury is not season-ending and will not require surgery. Punter Jake Bailey handled kickoffs and attempted a 51-yard field goal that was wide left in the preseason finale. The Dolphins will seek a free-agent place-kicker to handle kicking duties while Sanders recovers. Running back Jaylen Wright also is not expected to be available for the opener.
