"MIAMI GARDENS - The Dolphins' playoffs hopes were already gone when their 45-21 loss to Cincinnati kicked off Sunday afternoon. Their performance reflected those dashed hopes. The Dolphins (6-8), now assured of their second consecutive losing season, got whipped, 28-7, in the second half. Rookie quarterback Quinn Ewers was OK in the first half and rough in the second half. The run game was OK in the first half and rough in the second half."
"The Dolphins had a respectable 129 yards on 28 carries with one touchdown. But let's go inside the numbers. Running back De'Von Achane (15 carries, 81 yards, one touchdown) had six carries for 16 yards in the second half. Fellow running back Jaylen Wright (nine carries, 35 yards) tried to impact the run game to no avail. Most of the Dolphins' yards came on three runs - a 48-yard touchdown by Achane, a 10-yard gain by Wright and a nine-yard gain by wide receiver Malik Washington."
The Dolphins lost 45-21 to the Bengals, falling to 6-8 and eliminating playoff chances while suffering a 28-7 second-half collapse. Rookie quarterback Quinn Ewers completed 20 of 30 passes for 260 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions, showing early promise but fading late. The running game totaled 129 yards on 28 carries and one touchdown, but most gains came from three plays and production evaporated in the second half. Jaylen Waddle had five catches for 72 yards plus a fumble. Greg Dulcich and Darren Waller showed intermittent promise. The locker room reacted sullenly as hope waned.
