The Jets allowed 82 points in the previous two games and surrendered scores on eight of the first nine series in the Jacksonville contest. Trevor Lawrence threw five touchdown passes and added a rushing touchdown, becoming the fifth player in the Super Bowl era to do so. The Jets recorded two quarterback hits and no sacks; Wilks called blitzes on 10 of Lawrence's 32 pass attempts, and Lawrence completed 7 of 10 passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns against the blitz. Wilks, 55, had been out of the NFL in 2024 after one season as the San Francisco 49ers' defensive coordinator and previously held defensive-coordinator and head-coaching roles.
