Micah Parsons' agent: We tried everything to keep him at the Dallas Cowboys
"I think the most important thing is Micah wanted to be a Cowboy, He grew up cheering for the Cowboys, wore the blue and white at Penn State, wore it in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys. He wanted to be a Cowboy and we did everything we could for him to remain a Cowboy."
"Obviously there's a power dynamic that's a little different there. One guy's the owner of the team and the GM, and the other one is Micah Parsons, a young 25-year-old football player. So, I'm not sure if there was miscommunication there by the time Micah walked out, but at no point did Micah believe that he was negotiating a contract."
Micah Parsons was traded from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers after Cowboys owner Jerry Jones refused to discuss a contract extension with Parsons' agent. The Packers acquired Parsons in exchange for three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark and first-round picks in 2026 and 2027. Parsons signed a four-year, $188 million deal that makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. Agent David Mulugheta said Parsons wanted to remain a Cowboy and that they did everything possible to keep him. Mulugheta said Parsons never believed he had a verbal agreement with Jones and cited a power dynamic during the conversation as a likely source of miscommunication.
