Mike Vrabel said it felt like the Patriots were 'willing to get into a street fight' during his first win
"We unfortunately just gave up the punt return, but then [we] answered, Gibby answered and that unit answered, Felt like we were willing to get into a street fight, had a little lull, and then we didn't pack it up and quit."
"I told you, we had to have those guys be a weapon for us, And Rhamondre [Stevenson] answered, then Gibby answered. We had a similar situation in practice where we had a couple bad plays, and we have to keep going on and snap the next play. Then somebody hit a play. A back hit a play. And I'm like, 'see, it just takes one play.'"
The Patriots secured a win in Miami despite poor special-teams tackling and early momentum swings. Miami's Malik Washington broke tackles and returned a punt 74 yards for a touchdown late in the game, but Antonio Gibson answered with a 90-yard kickoff return touchdown. Rhamondre Stevenson led the Patriots with 88 receiving yards and 54 rushing yards on 11 carries while rookie TreVeyon Henderson had a notable wheel-route gain from Drake Maye. Kayshon Boutte caught a tough first-quarter touchdown, Marte Mapu intercepted a late pass, and Milton Williams sacked the quarterback on 4th-and-12 to end the game. The Patriots were penalized 12 times for 75 yards.
