Marquez Valdes-Scantling signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers primarily to reunite with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He sits in a locker catty-corner to Rodgers and credited Rodgers for bringing him to Pittsburgh. Valdes-Scantling and Rodgers spent four seasons together in Green Bay, where Valdes-Scantling caught 13 touchdown passes from Rodgers and led the league with 20.9 yards per reception in 2020, when Rodgers won NFL MVP. Valdes-Scantling described Rodgers as the best player, praised their rapport and friendship, and said Rodgers has taught him a lot. Rodgers responded warmly, saying he loves Valdes-Scantling.
