Penn State's Drew Allar fully healthy, will throw at combine
"If I had to play a game today or tomorrow, I feel like I could go out there and get it done. My whole focus towards my rehab process has been getting to this point, being healthy enough to have the chance to put myself out there and throw. I'm really excited to go out there on Saturday and just cut it loose."
"Obviously, it's not what I envisioned. I'm a firm believer in, 'everything happens for a reason,' and I've just taken this opportunity through this injury to better myself as a person, teammate, and as a player. I wouldn't change a thing. Everything happens for a reason."
Drew Allar, Penn State's quarterback, sustained a season-ending broken left ankle on October 11 while attempting to scramble against Northwestern. After undergoing surgery, he has recovered and will participate in throwing drills at the NFL Combine in Lucas Oil Stadium, though he will skip most other activities. Allar completed 64.8% of his passes for 1,100 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions across six games before his injury. Penn State finished 7-6 after a difficult midseason that included six consecutive losses and the firing of head coach James Franklin. Allar maintains a positive outlook, believing the injury provided an opportunity for personal growth.
