Seahawks stroll past 49ers, snag NFC No. 1 seed
""It was a total team effort tonight," Darnold said in his postgame, on-field interview with Laura Rutledge on ESPN."
""I'm so proud of those guys in the locker room.""
The Seattle Seahawks clinched the NFC's No. 1 seed with a 13-3 win over the San Francisco 49ers at Levi's Stadium, securing a first-round bye and home-field advantage. Levi's Stadium will host Super Bowl LX, and head coach Mike Macdonald's team aims to return there in five weeks. Seattle relied on its defense and running game to earn a seventh straight victory. Sam Darnold completed 20 of 26 passes for 198 yards, did not throw a touchdown, and avoided turnovers. Darnold signed a three-year, $100.5 million deal after Geno Smith was traded and made his second straight Pro Bowl despite 20 turnovers. With the win, Seattle improved to 15-2 on the road across two seasons under Macdonald.
