Vanderbilt reached the AP Top 10 for the first time since 1947 after a weekend that produced nine losses by ranked teams and a near-complete poll makeover. Ohio State remained No. 1 for an eighth straight week following a 34-0 road shutout of Wisconsin and received 60 first-place votes. Indiana rose to No. 2 and received the remaining six first-place votes. Four top-10 teams lost this week, including losses to unranked opponents. Texas A&M moved to No. 3, Alabama to No. 4, and Georgia returned to the top five. Louisville entered the Top 25 and Virginia reached No. 16.
