What is the 'Tush Push'? And how did the Eagles' signature play become endangered in NFL?
Briefly

The article discusses the ongoing debate regarding the NFL's push play, focusing on arguments about player safety and its place in football. Coach Sean McDermott highlights injury risks associated with the technique, while NFL executive Jeff Miller counters that data does not substantiate safety fears. Players like Travis Kelce and Frankie Luvu also weigh in; Kelce argues against the perceived danger, while Luvu criticizes the play as unsportsmanlike. This clash of perspectives illustrates the complexity of balancing player safety with the integrity of the game.
To me, there's always been an injury risk with that play. The techniques that are used with that play, to me, have been potentially contrary to the health and safety of the players.
The data doesn't support safety being an issue with the push, because there's just the infrequent nature of the play.
I get why some people think that it's potentially unsafe. For me, personally, I never felt like there's that much more of a risk of injuring somebody on the play.
It's pretty much a scrum in rugby. That's how I kind of look at it. We've got to have a scrum too, on the other side.
