Once the team finished its on-ice session, the Caps hosted their first family skate of the regular season, giving players a chance to take the ice with their significant others and children. Two tykes who made it out onto the sheet early were Alex Ovechkin's children, Sergei and Ilya, wearing black Screaming Eagle jerseys."
"The two posed for photos with dad, but then quickly got down to business, shooting on Charlie Lindgren and showing off an impressively improving skillset. Tom Wilson made sure to greet the Ovechkin brothers at the bench with fist bumps. "Boom!" he yelled. "This first line is gonna go so hard in 2038," the Capitals wrote on X. Others to take the ice during the skate included the children from Dylan Strome, Aliaksei Protas, Dylan McIlrath, Nic Dowd, and Trevor van Riemsdyk."
