Easton Cowan delivered a strong game with smart puck play, effective forechecking, and improved confidence and skating compared with last year. The Maccelli–Tavares–Nylander line spent time in the offensive zone but must produce more goals. Auston Matthews is generating many opportunities and shooting frequently; William Nylander needs to attack, get inside and increase his shot volume. Calle Jarnkrok provides hardworking secondary scoring.
