Ethen Frank scored both Capitals goals in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Detroit Red Wings, bringing his season totals to six goals and 13 points in 25 games. Frank opened the scoring with 5:43 remaining in the first period, using his speed to force Albert Johansson to stumble and finish on Cam Talbot with a backhand. After Detroit took a 2-1 lead, Frank tied the game with 9:38 remaining by collecting a loose puck off John Carlson and beating Talbot five-hole from the high slot.
