Jakob Chychrun scored a one-timer over goaltender Joseph Woll for the game-winning goal in Washington's 4-2 victory over Toronto. Chychrun has scored in five straight games and extended a point streak to 10 games, tying Al Iafrate and Robert Picard for the longest point streak by a Capitals defenseman. The play began with Connor McMichael advancing the puck to Ryan Leonard, who fed Chychrun in the right faceoff circle. Chychrun leads NHL defensemen with 10 goals in 25 games, is one goal ahead of Cale Makar, and is the second-fastest Capital to reach 10 goals in a season. Since November 11 Chychrun has 13 points, tied with Alex Ovechkin for the team lead in that span.
