NY Islander center Casey Cizikas set to hit 900 game milestone
"He's been grinding every single night - blocking shots, battling, whatever it takes to help the team win. He's an energy bug, always smiling, always laughing. He just embodies what it means to be an Islander."
"Great accomplishment. I'm sure he's pretty proud of himself, but for a guy that night after night, you know exactly what you're going to get from him - energy, and a guy that will work and be very resilient in his work. So I have just good things to say about him."
"die an Islander"
Casey Cizikas will play his 900th NHL game at UBS Arena, all with the New York Islanders. Drafted in the fourth round in 2009 and debuting in 2011-12, he has remained a fixture through coaching changes, playoff runs, and roster overhauls. He signed a six-year extension in 2021 and vowed to die an Islander. Known as a tenacious bottom-six forward, Cizikas contributes speed, defensive reliability, physical play, penalty-killing, and relentless forechecking. Teammates and coaches praise his consistent energy, work ethic, and locker-room leadership, and his value is measured in accountability rather than scoring.
