NY Islanders prospect Cole Eiserman comforts his friend Cole Hutson after a scary moment on the ice
"I didn't really know what happened. I just saw him on the ice, and he was saying he couldn't really move. Grabbed his hand to make sure he was able to squeeze it. He could move his feet and stuff. Horrible to see and everything. I texted Lane (Hutson), and I guess everything at the hospital went well - all positive. Hope to see him tonight and just prayers for him."
"After being tended to by the trainers for a few minutes, a stretcher was called onto the ice, on which Hutson was taken to a local hospital. The good news is that Hutson was soon released from the hospital, rejoining his team at Grand Casino Arena. In an emotional moment, NY Islanders prospect and Hutson's teammate with Team USA and at Boston University, Cole Eiserman, took to Hutson's side while receiving treatment on the ice, holding his teammate and friends' hands in a moment of need."
Cole Hutson, a Team USA defenseman, was struck in the back of the head by a puck during the World Junior Championship game versus Switzerland and remained down on the ice. Trainers tended to him before a stretcher transported him to a local hospital. Hutson was soon released and rejoined his teammates at Grand Casino Arena. Teammate Cole Eiserman, who plays with Hutson at Boston University and with Team USA, stood by and held his hand during treatment. Hutson will undergo evaluation to determine whether he can continue playing in the tournament.
