With an assist from a friend, Jack Parker headed to Hockey Hall of Fame

Jack Parker compiled 897 wins, 13 Frozen Four appearances, three NCAA championships, 73 NHL players and 28 Olympians, and produced numerous coaches and general managers during his tenure at Boston University. Bernie Corbett, a longtime BU announcer and alumnus, mobilized a campaign to secure Parker's Hockey Hall of Fame induction by compiling Parker's achievements and leveraging contacts on the Hall of Fame committee. Corbett prepared a written case, distributed it through sympathetic committee members, and drew inspiration from prior successful advocacy for other sports figures. Parker's induction followed Corbett's persistent advocacy and presentation of Parker's coaching legacy.
