Milton Williams sounds just like Patriots fans hoping for expected A.J. Brown trade
Milton Williams, a defensive tackle who joined the Patriots after playing four seasons with the Eagles, overlapped with A.J. Brown for three seasons. Williams said he hears trade noise and sees it, but added that he is not paid to lobby the Patriots’ front office. Brown and Williams previously made two Super Bowl trips together, including one victory. From 2022 through 2024, the Eagles won 39 games with Brown as an offensive focal point and Williams setting the defensive tone, ranking second in the league behind the Kansas City Chiefs. Brown remains with Philadelphia until June 1, when the Eagles can move on to spread his cap hit over two years, but recent reports indicate no imminent deal because New England is reportedly unwilling to include a first-round pick in a trade.
"“You [hear] the noise and you see it,” Williams stated. “Shoot, [Brown's a] hell of a player. He can definitely help our team. But ... [the Patriots] don't pay me to do that.”"
