What Christian Barmore said of 1st-quarter benching against Browns
"I just had to make a decision. My job's to protect the team,"
"So when there are actions that I don't feel like are commensurate with what we want to do here, I have to make a decision. And we move on."
"I've moved on. Next question,"
"Let's focus on the Falcons."
Christian Barmore was benched for the entire first quarter during New England's win over Cleveland and did not log defensive snaps until the second quarter. Head coach Mike Vrabel said the benching was his decision to protect the team when actions were not commensurate with team standards. After returning, Barmore played 30 defensive snaps and PFF credited him with a team-high six pressures during that stretch. Barmore signed a four-year, $84 million extension in April 2024 and has 13 tackles through eight games while forming a stout interior with Milton Williams and Khyiris Tonga. Barmore says he has moved on and is focused on the Falcons.
