"BROOKLYN, NY - Two police officers were attacked while on patrol in the New York City subway system Tuesday night. The incident happened at the 4th Avenue-9th Street station in Brooklyn around 11:40 p.m., police said. The officers were patrolling the station when they asked 40-year-old Mario Valenzuela to step off an F train after he was acting disorderly."

Two police officers were attacked while patrolling the New York City subway system in Brooklyn late Tuesday night. The incident occurred at the 4th Avenue-9th Street station around 11:40 p.m. Officers asked 40-year-old Mario Valenzuela to step off an F train after he was acting disorderly. Valenzuela is accused of resisting the officers' orders and attacking them, kicking one officer in the knee. The 40-year-old has been charged with assaulting a police officer, obstruction of governmental administration and disorderly conduct, among other crimes. Police believe Valenzuela may have been intoxicated at the time. An investigation is ongoing.
