Adams Campaign Hits New Low After Winnie Greco Cash Incident
Briefly

Eric Adams is struggling politically, trailing competitors in polls and barred from receiving public matching funds for his independent reelection campaign. A former advisor, Winnie Greco, handed a potato chip bag containing more than $100 in cash to a City Hall reporter after a Harlem campaign event. The reporter refused the money, contacted editors, and federal prosecutors later confiscated the cash after editors contacted the city's Department of Investigation. Greco called the interaction a cultural gesture and asked to avoid publicity. Separately, a different former advisor was indicted for the second time. Adams has not been accused of wrongdoing.
