Boldyn, AT&T advance Manhattan transfer connectivity
Boldyn Networks and AT&T completed a connectivity upgrade in New York City's metropolitan transport system, enhancing mobile services on the MTA's four-five and G lines. Coverage was improved between Borough Hall and Fulton Street stations and Court Square and Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets. This initiative aims to boost connectivity in the largest transit system in the nation. Boldyn Networks plans to invest $600 million to provide 5G connectivity in the 42nd Street Shuttle tunnels, expected to benefit 100,000 daily commuters and generate a $1 billion economic impact.
"The latest moves mean AT&T's customers now have complete coverage on the four-five line between Borough Hall and Fulton Street stations and Court Square and Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets on the G line."
"John Emra, president, Northeast at AT&T, stated that the 5G coverage project is part of an initiative to boost connectivity in the nation's largest transit system."
"Boldyn Networks committed to invest $600 million into the scheme, which the transport authority estimated would yield a $1 billion economic benefit by connecting 100,000 daily commuters."
"The move was part of an ongoing initiative to equip the entire NYC subway system with wireless coverage."
