Bronx Muslim Center to soon become the largest mosque in New York state

The Bronx Muslim Center in Van Nest will open a new four-floor, 32,000-square-foot building down the block from the existing center, becoming the largest mosque in New York state. The new facility is ten times larger than the original and will address consistent overcrowding and frequent overflow that forced additional prayer times and outdoor sidewalk prayers. The facility will include community event spaces, classrooms, meeting rooms, a rooftop outdoor seating area, and a basement cafeteria. The center plans weekend school and Arabic classes to engage youth and build community values. The center aims to open by the end of 2026.
