The mailbox bank at the Farragut Houses in Brooklyn has been unusable for months because of a faulty lock, forcing residents to pick up mail at a distant post office twice weekly. Residents with mobility issues face long walks or multiple buses to reach the post office, and limited pickup days and hours have caused missed apartment-transfer notifications and a missed high-school orientation. Tenants report a back-and-forth between the post office and NYCHA over responsibility for repairs. NYCHA said it repaired the mailbox bank in March and is coordinating with USPS to resolve ongoing delivery issues.
They just got a lot of excuses at the post office,
I didn't pick up the letter until after, well after,
We only have to pick up mail on Wednesdays and Saturdays,
So when I finally got to pick up the mail, it was on a Saturday and the appointment had passed. It was a week passed already.
