Diwali falls on October 20, and multiple New York City events run across the city in the days surrounding the holiday. A Ramleela Diwali puppet show and follow-up storytime, art, and songs with author Anu Sehgal are scheduled for Oct. 17 at the 53rd Street Library for children ages 8 and younger. Asia Society hosts a colorful, multi-sensorial afternoon on Oct. 18 with music, dance, storytelling, and hands-on arts and crafts. The Broome Street Ganesha Temple holds a Diwali puja and community morning on Oct. 19, featuring storytime, prasaad, and trivia. The Children’s Museum of Manhattan offers programming Oct. 20–22, daily 10 am–5 pm, for all ages.
