Epstein is a Sheepshead Bay resident who served as a New York City Civil Court Judge in the 2nd Municipal District beginning in 2019. She has worked in civil rights law and general litigation and presided over a wide range of civil cases. In August 2025 she was nominated for the Supreme Court with endorsements from the Democratic, Republican and Conservative parties. The swearing-in attracted family, fellow jurists, elected officials and community leaders, and she currently presides over foreclosure proceedings.
