Manhattan DA charges man in series of alleged attacks against slain husband
"The indictment comes two months after Jacob Zieben-Hood, 34, allegedly called his father on July 31 to say his husband, Donald, was harassing him with knives and would not let him depart his apartment at 250 West 138th St. - even though Donald had an order of protection intended to prevent him from going near his then-estranged husband, according to prosecutors."
"The Oct. 1 indictment accuses Zieben-hood of assaulting his husband in their apartment on Feb. 25 - despite a full order of protection - before returning yet again on June 14 to threaten his husband with a knife, leading police to arrest him. Zieben-Hood is charged with first-degree and second-degree burglary, second-degree assault, aggravated criminal contempt, first-degree criminal contempt, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon."
Donald Zieben-Hood was arrested after his husband, Jacob Zieben-Hood, was found dead in their Manhattan apartment. Prosecutors say Jacob called his father on July 31 reporting Donald was harassing him with knives and sent a photo of a bleeding leg wound; officers later found Jacob deceased with stab wounds and a forehead gash. The Oct. 1 indictment alleges earlier attacks on Feb. 25 and June 14 despite a full order of protection and an arrest on June 14. Six charges include burglary, assault, aggravated and first-degree criminal contempt, and fourth-degree weapon possession. The Manhattan DA urged abuse victims to seek resources.
