
"QUEENS, N.Y. - Police have identified the human remains discovered this summer near the Jackie Robinson Parkway as belonging to 27-year-old Christina G. Purdie of Brooklyn, as investigators continue to probe the case now ruled a homicide by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Authorities said skeletal remains were found on August 6 around 10:33 a.m. by Department of Transportation workers near Exit 1 westbound of the Jackie Robinson Parkway, within the confines of the 104th Precinct."
"The victim was initially described as a woman between 20 and 30 years old, possibly Black or Hispanic, approximately 4 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 2 inches tall, with dark brown curly hair with bleached ends and a rose tattoo on her upper left buttock. On November 4, the medical examiner's office determined the cause of death to be homicide. The victim has since been identified as Christina G. Purdie, 27, of 1 Kenilworth Place in Brooklyn."
Skeletal remains discovered August 6 near Exit 1 westbound of the Jackie Robinson Parkway in Queens were recovered from a grassy area adjacent to the roadway. Department of Transportation workers located the remains within the 104th Precinct. The remains were initially described as a woman between 20 and 30 years old, possibly Black or Hispanic, about 4 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 2 inches tall, with dark brown curly hair with bleached ends and a rose tattoo on the upper left buttock. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death a homicide on November 4. NYPD detectives are investigating and request tips via Crime Stoppers.
