"Starting next week, the NYC Ferry system will connect Staten Island and Brooklyn. A route adjustment will send boats between St. George and the existing fast ferry stop at the American Veterans Memorial Pier at 69th Street in Bay Ridge. The change comes as the New York City Economic Development Corporation, which oversees the NYC Ferry, has revamped the system's existing routes."
"This major hub will connect Staten Island commuters to the rest of the NYC Ferry system, which mainly operates in the East River. From Wall Street/Pier 11, commuters can transfer to the majority of the NYC Ferry routes, including the South Brooklyn route to Governor's Island. In addition, travelers can pick up the newly condensed Rockaway-Soundview route. Service on this route will run every 45 minutes and stop at Rockaway, Sunset Park, East 34th Street and Ferry Point Park in the Bronx."
"Tickets for the NYC Ferry start at $4.50 for a one-way trip. Riders can also purchase a 10-trip pass for $29 or an unlimited two-day ticket for $15. Discounted tickets are available for $1.45 for New York City high school students, seniors, people with disabilities and Fair Fares participants. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time on the NYC Ferry app, or at vending machines located at NYC Ferry stops. More information about tickets and discount programs can be found on the NYC Ferry website."
NYC Ferry will route boats between St. George and the American Veterans Memorial Pier at 69th Street in Bay Ridge, then continue to Atlantic Avenue at Brooklyn Bridge Park and terminate at Wall Street/Pier 11. Wall Street/Pier 11 will serve as a major transfer hub linking Staten Island commuters to most NYC Ferry routes across the East River, including South Brooklyn, Astoria, and East River routes serving Williamsburg and Greenpoint. The newly condensed Rockaway-Soundview route will run every 45 minutes and stop at Rockaway, Sunset Park, East 34th Street and Ferry Point Park in the Bronx. Fares start at $4.50 with discounted options and passes available via the NYC Ferry app, vending machines, and the NYC Ferry website. The new routes take effect Dec. 8.
