NYC is setting up free World Cup watch parties and fan zones all across the five boroughs
"The biggest setup lands in Queens, where the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows will serve as the 'NYNJ World Cup 26 Queens Group Stage HQ' from June 11 through June 27, featuring daily match broadcasts and additional programming."
"Brooklyn is getting perhaps the longest-running activation: a waterfront fan zone at Brooklyn Bridge Park will run from June 13 through July 19 with daily screenings and events overlooking the Manhattan skyline."
"The state is spending $20 million on World Cup-related programming across New York City, while also expanding permits that will allow bars and restaurants to host larger outdoor viewing events."
New York City is preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a series of free fan zones and public watch parties in all five boroughs. Governor Kathy Hochul and Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced plans for events featuring giant match screenings, live entertainment, and cultural programming from June to July. Key locations include the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Rockefeller Center in Manhattan, Bronx Terminal Market, and Staten Island University Hospital Community Park.
