"More than 250,000 have made use of New York City's Workforce1 Career Centers since the start of the Adams administration in 2021, the city announced this week, and more than 80,000 have been connected with new high-paying jobs through the centers. The centers provide myriad services like job placement, coaching, training and resume workshops, and partner with various city agencies and private sector partners as well as the New York City Office for Talent and Workforce Development."
"Gross also announced the expansion of the Jobs NYC Initiative with community-based partners like Bronx Tech Hub, which is launching a six-week program training in AI prompt engineering; the Inspired Community Project, which will fund the Behavioral Health Apprenticeship Program to support current apprentices with paid clinical training, weekly instruction, mentorship, and certification; and Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow, which will launch an HVAC Renewable Energy & Sustainable Construction program for 35 trainees."
More than 250,000 New Yorkers used Workforce1 Career Centers since 2021, and over 80,000 were connected to new high-paying jobs. The centers offer job placement, coaching, training, resume workshops, and partner with city agencies, private partners, and the Office for Talent and Workforce Development. Since the start of Jobs NYC Hiring Halls in 2024, more than 14,500 attendees generated over 4,500 on-site interviews and more than 2,000 conditional job offers. Jobs NYC Initiative expansions include a six-week AI prompt engineering program, a funded Behavioral Health Apprenticeship, and an HVAC Renewable Energy and Sustainable Construction program for 35 trainees, aiming to reduce unemployment and raise labor force participation.
