The city's pickleball phenomenon shows no signs of fading, with CityPickle taking over a significant space in Times Square to serve as both a headquarters and a new flagship facility. The company has already established over 32 courts, including a prominent location at Wollman Rink in Central Park. Additionally, new clubs like Red Hook and Velto Pickleball Club are enhancing local offerings, adding both professional courts and community-oriented programs. This growth reflects the sustained demand for pickleball in the city post-pandemic.
CityPickle announced a deal to take over 37,000 square feet at the Paramount Building in Times Square, which will double as its flagship facility and the company's new headquarters.
Since last year, CityPickle has opened or announced plans for at least 32 courts across the city, including a 14-court takeover of Central Park's Wollman Rink.
The columnless 18-foot-tall facility on the eighth floor of 1501 Broadway will include seven courts for players to enjoy during their breaks or after work.
Both Red Hook Pickleball Club and Velto Pickleball Club are contributing to the growing number of pickleball courts, with Red Hook featuring five cushioned courts.
