The suspect fled on foot, heading south on 42nd Street, and has not been seen since. The boy was not injured. Authorities described the suspect as a male with a medium complexion, last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants, a black hat, and black sneakers."

The robbery occurred around 5:52 p.m. on Christmas evening in front of 1534 42nd Street in Brooklyn as a 10-year-old boy walked along 42nd Street. An unidentified man approached, grabbed the child and snatched imitation money from his hand, then fled on foot heading south on 42nd Street. The suspect has not been located and the boy sustained no injuries. Authorities provided a physical description of the suspect as a male with a medium complexion wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants, a black hat and black sneakers. The incident involved play money only.
