
"Two patrolmen were struck by a Mercedes as the driver fled a traffic stop in Brooklyn Tuesday, cops said. The officers stopped Anas Rao, 20, for running a red light in his grey Mercedes C300 at W. 8th St. near Quentin Road in Gravesend around 4:39 a.m., police said. The patrolmen exited their vehicle and were approaching Rao's Mercedes on foot when the suspect's car suddenly jolted backwards, striking one officer in the leg and the other in his left foot, cops said."

The officers were on foot approaching Rao's vehicle when the car jolted backwards, hitting one officer in the leg and another in the left foot. Medics transported both officers to a local hospital in stable condition. The driver fled west on Quentin Road but was arrested later. He faces multiple charges including assault and vehicular assault.
