Tensions escalated when a protester from Lang's group pepper-sprayed counterprotesters. Subsequently, a counterprotester lit and threw an incendiary device that landed in a crosswalk, producing flames and smoke before striking a barrier near police officers. A second device was also thrown. Two suspects were arrested: Emir Balat, 18, for throwing the device, and Ibrahim Kayumi, 19, for supplying it. A third device was discovered in an associated vehicle.
