Jets' Ruckert eager to improve...and help out rookie Taylor
Briefly

Jeremy Ruckert, entering his fourth NFL season with the Jets, is dedicated to enhancing his performance based on feedback from coach Aaron Glenn. Ruckert emphasizes the importance of consistency and leadership, aiming to positively influence teammates. Despite limited involvement in the pass game behind Tyler Conklin, Ruckert sees potential for increased participation, especially with Justin Fields now on the team. However, he faces competition from rookie Mason Taylor, a stronger pass catcher, indicating the tight end position may be highly contested as he strives for a prominent role.
"It was a great conversation," Ruckert said after Jets' minicamp practice Tuesday. "Just about taking this position and rolling with it. Being more consistent, being that player who can kind of bring guys along with you."
"The one thing I think that stands out about Ruck, man, you love the physical traits that he has," Glenn said. "His ability to understand how to sustain blocks... He is a tough guy. He is violent."
