4 NY Islanders prospects will represent Team USA at the World Junior Summer Showcase
Briefly

Matthew Schaefer and Kashawn Aitcheson will join Team Canada at the World Junior Summer Showcase. Team USA will feature four prospects: Cole Eiserman, Kamil Bednarik, Jacob Kvasnicka, and Sam Laurila. Eiserman previously won gold at the 2025 World Junior Championship. Bednarik is expected to step into a role similar to a former player, contributing in various ways. Laurila, after a successful stint in the USHL, aims to become an offensive contributor from the blue line. Kvasnicka, set to play in the WHL, aims to prove his worth for the holiday tournament lineup.
Eiserman was part of the team that took home gold at the 2025 World Junior Championship, scoring timely goals despite playing most of the tournament as the 13th forward.
Laurila spent two seasons with the USNTDP, going undrafted in 2024, then joined the Fargo Force of the USHL, where he has taken his game to another level.
