"That's what the break is for, right? Duclair said on Wednesday. It's kind of reset, recharge, so that's what I did. I reset my mind, mentally, physically, put everything behind me, what happened in the first half, and now I'm just focused on a strong second half and hopefully make it a long run in the playoffs."
"I don't think I changed much of my game, to be honest, Duclair said. But obviously, there are things I need to improve on, just consistency, I guess. Just make sure that every shift I'm battling out there. But confidence-wise, nothing has changed. I'm super confident in my ability to get back to my scorin"
Anthony Duclair used his pre-Olympic break to reset mentally and physically and is targeting a strong second half and a playoff run. He was benched twice mid-game and made a healthy scratch after struggles with back-checking, including the benching of his entire line of Mathew Barzal and captain Anders Lee. Duclair showed streaky scoring, with four goals in his first 39 games followed by eight goals in eight games, including a three-goal, five-point night. Over his last eight games he has one goal, three assists and a minus-6 rating. He says confidence remains high while he works on consistency.
