"Her uncle, Jon Ledecky, is a co-owner of the New York Islanders and their AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. He previously was a minority owner of the Capitals. Katie appears to have come to New York for Thanksgiving break to spend time with family. She also attended the Islanders' Thanksgiving Eve game against the Boston Bruins - a 3-1 loss. She received a standing ovation from the crowd like the American hero she is."

Katie Ledecky attended the Washington Capitals vs. New York Islanders game at UBS Arena during a Thanksgiving trip to New York. She grew up attending Capitals games and was introduced to the crowd while wearing a blue Islanders shirt. Her uncle, Jon Ledecky, co-owns the Islanders and their AHL affiliate and formerly held a minority stake in the Capitals. Ledecky also attended the Islanders' Thanksgiving Eve game, received a standing ovation, and appeared on MSG for an interview, saying she is a huge Islanders fan. She lives in Gainesville, volunteers as a University of Florida swim coach, trained with Anthony Nesty since 2021, and announced plans to move east after completing her degree.
